I downloaded a popular Mod APK but my phone started acting weird — how do you check if a modded app is safe before installing it?
It had great features, but now I’m paranoid about spyware. What precautions do you take?

Some modded APKs are loaded with spyware.

Now I always:

• Scan the APK on VirusTotal
• Check permissions (if it asks for SMS or camera
• Test on an old phone or emulator, never my main
• Watch for weird behavior (popups, battery drain)
• Stick to trusted sources or just skip it if it feels shady

Better safe than sorry. A cool feature’s not worth your data.

If you have a new, updated Android OS - it's mostly unlikely due to a good antivirus protection. Other than that, you can find a list of verified websites with modded APKs on Reddit. It will come in handy
