There is a way of making money from writing articles that has been around for some time now however it would be good to bring it up again.

How these websites work is that you write articles for the website and you and the site owner take a share of the advertising profits. Going down this route makes sense as these article websites are often very large already therefore your articles will get indexed faster. :p

I have just begun writing for InfoBarrel which I chose due to the 75% commission on advertising they pay out and the sites good reputation for quality content.

Other websites you can write for and get paid are:

Hubpages, Associate Content, Article Income and Buksia.

As I write more I will share how I get on here.

Hello,
Let me tell you that I order writing articles (around 450-500 words) for my web-sites and I do this using fiverr.com (usually).
I do write most of the content by myself (I am good writer). However, sometimes it is better to have different style of writing.
Of course, I order specific topics as my sites are niche ones, about finances, gaming and lottery games. I pay for articles usually $5,-, but can pay $10,- as well, if article is well-written, quality one and focused on topic.
I allow high-quality guest posting (free of charge) but the link inside of the post cannot point to commercial site and no affiliate links allowed. Link to your personal profile on LinkedIn, Facebook ar so on, is allowed to help you as a writer.
I am curious how you going to earn writing articles and posting them on the mentioned sites. Waiting for your news :)

What kind of money do you make with these articles? How many would you need to submit to start seeing real income of say $10 a day or more?

We've not come across the ad revenue share model too often. The more popular model is simply paying for the articles to be written. I suspect that model you're using promotes a better level of content writing, as the better the content is, the higher chance of vists/advertising.

I personally prefer finding one's own clients and writing for them, this method is more lucrative than submitting on rev share websites. You can demand your price this way.
