Nice Post!!! Just to add:

1) Identify your target audience and their key needs/concerns as well as applicable demographics such as age/gender/location/interests as well as where they hangout online e.g. forums, social groups as well as authorative websites etc... As that will help in many ways such as developing your content marketing plan which addresses the key needs of your target audience as well as promotional campaigns with targeting resources which can help with traffic...

2) Make sure you identify all of your website objectives which are properly mapped out... e.g. newsletter optin, sales, information etc... Personally I try to limit the MWR (most wanted reaction) otherwise known as conversion goal to be one per page.... e.g. dont place an newsletter optin with a buy now button on the same page...

3) Tracking! This is hugely important... You need to track where traffic is coming from, what clicks are getting the most as well as other user behaviour on your site... It all helps with improving your conversion rates as well as keeping your bounce rates down...

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Sid

A suggested approach for emerging a digital strategy:
1. Distinct digital marketing plan defining alteration needed and creating plan for investment.
2. Merge digital plan part of online marketing plan - digital becomes part of today’s business.

Some of the things i didn't knew clearly. The way you have written is well explained. Basically content update is very much necessary when we talk about balancing it all so that website stays good with its ranking in the search engine. I will be focusing more from now on the things you have highlighted.
