Pixelmator is arguably the best photo editor on a Mac. It handles even the largest photos with ease, replicates as many Photoshop tools as are generally required, as well as Photoshop file support, and has an excellent heal tool that can interpret what’s around it and fill in detail.

Excellent for quick touching up of photos to detailed manipulation for novices and pros alike. There’s even a very capable £7.99 iPad Pixelmator app with many of the same tools and ease of use that make the Mac app great.

Photoshop comes with all the whistles and bells, but it’s costly and takes a long time to master. If you’re not looking for alternatives that do out of the world thing but want something simple that does Photoshop basics then look at GIMP ([http://www.gimp.org/). This Free software for Windows and Mac offers a wide range of tools for photo editing without the steep learning curve of Photoshop.

Gimp is good but is no way comparable to photoshop. In my opinion of course. You should try Affinity Photo. Now is better than photoshop.

free alternative to Photoshop is Paint.net! It is a great program which consists of many image options and is extremely similar to photoshop! Would recommend this to anyone who wants Photoshop-Quality images for free!

I have been using GIMP for close to 8 years now. I use Photoshop sparingly, mostly because it is required for College assignments. I prefer sketching on paper, scanning it and then using Inkscape and a Pen tablet to create stuff otherwise.

Photoshop is very technical when it comes to editing. I used photoshop for 9 years.
Try to learn photoshop while you're editing to some easy program because IMO.
Photoshop is one of the best editing program out there.

I've started to use Corel Painter 12, but still have my Photoshop if needed.

What exactly do you use the image editor for?

If you're looking for the basics, I would suggest something like The Logo
Creator. Its simple, super quick, very affordable and comes with presets
(templates) of all kinds. It is a little limiting in comparison with something
like PS, but, for smaller, less intrusive tasks, it gets the job done.

If you're looking for something more extensive, then I would suggest the
likes of CorelDraw, Gimp or even Paint Shop Pro.

Again, it all depends, really, on what you would be using it for.

Try using Piktochart. There are plenty of available templates you can use.

GIMP can do most of the basic and advance things that Photoshop can do. Photoshop has the advantage in areas like plug-ins and online support.

If Photoshop CC cost too much, then try to buy an older desktop version like Adobe Photoshop CS2 or something. An older version can be bought on eBay for a fairly cheap price, and despite being outdated, can still do many of the same common functions that today's CC version.

I say give GIMP a try first. It's free and works very similar to Photoshop.

There's also Canva, the online image editor. This works very well but doesn't work exactly like Photoshop. Canva is a convenient image maker, meaning you can make banners, posters, photos, collages, ebook covers, etc. very quickly.

I think photoshop is the best ever tool for you to edit any pics which is great for SEO. Although it will take you much time of mastering it, it is WORTH. Everything easy is not always good, and I am sure mastering this software does many benefits for you. You can take time mastering SEO, why can not you spend time learning photoshop?
