Hi!

Https is basically uses SSL (Secure socket Layer ) to send encrypted data. so if your site is using some kind of payment method or user private data then HTTPS is a must. For blog sites or others simple http is sufficient.

Thanks

In 2017 SSL will play a major role. If you do some search in Google, You probably have noticed that the first five page of SERP have sites using SSL. So, it is quite clear that Google pushing sites with HTTPS.

i do not think SSL makes notable improvement in SERP ranking
but SSL is a must if you provide login/registration forms on a webpage. Else some browsers will be showing unsecure warnings and that is certainly something you do not want your visitors to see. there are free SSL like letsencrypt.org

Well if sites have all other factors equal except the HTTP and https then definitely the site having SSls enabled will tend to have more privilige as compared to the site that has not got this with it.

If it's a blog site which provides only articles and has loyal readers, I think https is not necessarily important. However, if your site relies on search engines in getting visitors, then HTTP is somehow a small factor of better SEO. Based on what I have read from various sources, HTTPS is important for transaction pages and other pages which provide sensitive data, such as password, credit card number, and other sensitive information.

SSL/TLS bonus is not about SEO, because we don't know if google provide a better rank.
But for your website performance, HTTPS is required to use HTTP/2 protocol. So even for a blog, it make sense to use https nowadays, when SSL certificates are free with letsencrypt or Cloudflare

I think its very important to have https these days because almost every website uses it today. And when people see it on your website it gives them confidence. If you don't have https in may give people the wrong idea. With all of the recent hacks and credit card scams, people may think your website is unsafe and that you're going to steal information from their computer.

The leading string in internet URLs, the letter HTTP stand for "HyperText Transfer Protocol" and allow the use of alphanumeric strings to define a user address and connect to the associated server.

The actual routing uses numeric code, but these are displayed as the familiar URL addresses including "www" as well as private and commercial servers.

It's very useful to those owning and running important websites with risks of getting hacked. You should consider having this extension because you run an eCommerce website. I'm sure you want the site to remain secure at all times since even the visitors to your website worry about that. They wouldn't want to give their credit card details to a website that can easily be hacked.

When you use SSL for your sites that's mean your site is trust worth and SSL is use to sent encrypted data. If you use some online payment method on your sites then SSL is very important. When your sites get https it take advantage on site ranking also.

When I log into a website and it starts with h t t p s; I know it is a safer site than w w w.
I've heard it's because your browser can validate the website.

For SEO purposes the change is so tiny that it will not make a huge difference.

For me personally when I visit a website if I do not have to enter much personal info then I won't every pay that much attention as to whether it is HTTPS or not.

If you have a professional looking site and you aren't snooping into someone's personal info I think you should be good without it.

Yeah going for https will surely help bring your site if not largely but a little upwards in the organic search results. I tried it for my website about 3 months ago and the results are pretty clear from Google analytics. I got my site SSL certified because I needed to ask for email from the visitors of my blog so that I could contact them again and so going for https was really important and also turned out to be beneficiary for me.

Each layer of security is more than welcome nowadays. As mentioned, the certificate itself is easy to obtain, so that's good news. Opinions vary when it comes to the effect of SSL on SEO and traffic (or the lack of it)... Still, one point is solid - if you can protect both yourself as a site owner and your visitors/customers (actually, their data), add the protection. You'll sleep soundly.

According to what i've read so far, https can give you a very very slight boost in ranking. But, i think, with https a website will look more trustworthy to the users and will provide them with better user experience. I think it’s worth getting an SSL certificate, and taking into account that some hosts offer them for free with their plans, you can just grab one :D

If you are running an online business, I highly recommend you to install SSL certificate. A domain with HTTPS means secure and trusted. If you run a blog or forum, you also need it, unless you don't want to rank higher, becuase HTTPS is one of the reference factors in Google search ranking algorithms. So HTTPS is very important to anyone who runs a website.

It won't affect your ranking in a negative way.
At present, https has become an integral part of websites as it enhances security of your website and trust of your customers.
