Lastmod date in XML sitemap

if I created a post in 2020 and backdate it to 2015, would the lastmod in the XML sitemap show the true modified date which is 2020?

Sitemap generate its items in time they are created, if you want to change post date, you can change manually them by search and replace year directly in your sitemap.xml. I don't know why you want to backdate to 2015?
