Each online marketing professionals have their own techniques tools and methods. Nowadays there are lots of different plarforforms that you can use, but not all of them are convinient. Study shows that facebook started to compete with Youtube, that number of marketing videos uploaded directly to Facebook will outnumber those added to YouTube by end of year. But how do you feel about that? Which platform is better for you?

I doubt Facebook will ever take over the video market unless they start offering their users some way to monetize the platform. Facebook is a dying beast and there is an entire skew of social networks that are going to come out that actually pay their users.

Real videographers and people that use YouTube as a monetization method, will never put their content on Facebook unless uploaded to YouTube first.

Now the real question at hand is, will Dailymotion compete with YouTube somewhere in the near future?

If you ask between Facebook and you tube then I will suggest you to use Facebook because it is a popular social networking site, and there is much users. You can add videos on YouTube, but if you use Facebook then you can promote various things as text, contents, image, video, you can promote a whole website in a different way and you can also create pages for your business.

Hi Anna...

Great topic! Facebook has been in competition with Youtube for a long time as Google owns Youtube. As to which one works better it depends on the marketer and marketing strategy employed.

Facebook will never out perform Youtube though when it comes to video. Youtube gets somewhere around 70,000 videos uploaded an hour. Youtube is also the second highest ranked search engine on the web. That's why google bought them to begin with.

A good marketer is not going to choose between FB and Youtube but rather find ways to utilize both in their marketing mix. FB Rocks when used right. So does Youtube. But you have to how and when to use them in your marketing plan to get results.

I like both, w/ yt, with the right approach, you are able to obtain tons of views in about any niche, havn't tried yt ppc.

Facebook ads work wonderfully, best w a harvested audience to obtain clicks at 1/10 the price to compete w the major advertisers in every niche which are implementing the technique.

Facebooks groups and pages also have great potential like an optimized email list, mostly promote cpa though and use facebook to rank sites and posts.

There may be various opinions regarding this but obviously YouTube has an advantage over Facebook. However, it takes much effort to create a professional looking that would actually appeal to the viewers and also popularize it at the same time. In this regard Facebook has the upper hand as the posts can be real quick and do not require too much of an effort (just a little bit of creativity, of course).

I would upload my video to both and see which gets the best results. Which platform works best for you depends on what you're promoting. If you're looking to promote a service or product locally, then I think Facebook would be a better bet. But since they're both free, why not post your videos to both rather than just concentrating on one.
