Autoplay video on opt in page? Is that a good idea?

What do you think about auto-play video on opt in page? is that a good idea? Does it increase optins? Or does it usually annoy people? What has been your experience?

In my experience, and what I have read in threads, people find autoplay annoying. Especially when it is on a loop. Oh please, please stop with the looping videos you cannot turn off dear internet.

You see this a lot so I assume it must help in cases, regardless of voiced opinions from folks whom find it annoying... Typically people are more inclined to complain than to give praise, so I am sure that is the reason you'll see a lot of comments regarding how people find it annoying..

My inclination is that people whom find it annoying are generally people whom are not part of your target audience... Hence they are not interested in what you say... If however you touch on concerns people have such as pain points and benefits of a given solution then its different and people will sit up with enthusiasm... In otherwords the quality and content of your video matters!!!

My recommendation is simply for you to split test it and see for yourself if it increase conversions or not...

Based on my offers, autoplay video works well after they optin to your squeeze page showing my video sales letter. So far it always increases my conversion (in sales). It depends on your audience so the only way to test it out is do a split testing.
