WordPress free blog Help needed!!

Hello friends,
I am running free WordPress blog for my website. I am confused about how to work with plugin.
For example I download zip file of plugin in my computer, then what to do with this file in WordPress.
I want this plug-in for my free blog: [URLnf="https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/"]here[/URLnf]
How to work ahead?

Any suggestion will be helpful for me.

upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/ after that you can activate the plugin in the wp dashboard

Yes, like @johnny_r said, you can unzip the plugin and upload it to the plugins folder on your blog using some kind of FTP program like Filezilla for example.

Or, you can just go into your wordpress dashboard. Go into the plugins section. Search for Google Sitemap Generator and install it that way. That is even easier than installing an FTP program and setting it up. But either way will work.

Then you just need to activate the plugin on the plugin settings screen in your Wordpress dashboard.
