I agree with kaunsa. You can brand your site through Facebook. You can get enormous traffic to your site from Facebook. But remember Facebook doesn't give you dofollow link juice for any of your links.

Matt Cutts said "Facebook and Twitter pages are treated like any other pages in our web index so if something occurs on Twitter or occurs on Facebook and we're able to crawl it, then we can return that in our search results. But as far as doing special specific work to sort of say “you have this many followers on Twitter or this many likes on Facebook”, to the best of my knowledge we don't currently have any signals like that in our web search ranking algorithms."

No.....Facebook is not a part doing rank for Google. Facebook doesn't allow do-follow link. On no-follow you can find some visitor but not able to create any backlinks. SO if you think that you can rank your website i want to say that its not possible.

FB does not help with SEO with improving your rankings on the SERP as with other social platforms. It does however help with getting traffic to your website which is a subtle but important difference... G is on record with stating that... Therefore getting FB likes, the number of twitter followers does nothing (also considering how easy it is to fake these).... The cause and effect of genuine likes/followers is increased traffic - some of whom may even provide a genuine backlink to your site.... hence why some may attribute that it is good for SEO - but only indirectly at best when it comes to the SERPS...
