How many ads should you put in a page?

How many ads do you recommend to put in a page? Do you stick with the rules of Adsense 3 banner ads for a page for all type of common banners? or do you put more or maybe less? Personally, I sometimes put more than 3 ads in a page since a lot of my content are very long. what do you guys think?

How many ads do I recommend?
Have you read their Ad placement guidlines? You can have only 3 ads per page. Otherwise you have breaked one of their rules getting closer to being banned. You can optimize your ads for better earnings not to increase their numbers. Read & Follow their rules to avoid of getting banned.
