It's never too late, not just with with making money online but with everything that you want to do in life. Personally, if you ask me this is a general question and an answer to everybody who thinks its late and all. But going back to the topic, There are different ways to make money online actually.
You can look for jobs online and that's what I currently do. During my free time I have part time jobs online that can add to my earnings. There's a website that I can watch videos and be paid by doing it. There are also sites wherein you can test their websites and they pay you by doing so. Another one is by doing surveys. It's not definitely hard, you just had to put effort to it, be patient and be vigilant with what's happening in the online world.
