What sources are traffic sellers getting their traffic from generally? When I see ads for buy 1,000 visitors for $12.99 where might that come from? Adware?

I think it comes from some traffic exchange networks such as Hitleap, Easyhit4u, ...Others ways maybe come from Facebook Ads, GG adwords or some traffic generate software via proxies. IMO

If it comes from Facebook Ads, GG adwords then they are genuine traffic sources and worth paying for the traffic, also they are offering kind of this traffic very cheap. You need a decent budget to buy traffic from Facebook Ads, GG adwords so that could not happen.

Most of the really cheap traffic is fake bots or near worthless PTS traffic.
