Social Networks and News Media. Marketing and Promotion Trends.

Hello everyone!

Excuse me for occasional grammatical mistakes.

I' m a Russian journalism student that's very close to graduating. And for my thesis I need to make research on what marketing (especially promotion) trends in using social networks by news media are the most efficient and promising. Also it would be very nice if some of you could provide your opinions on what trends are inefficient, or even damaging for reputation of news media company.
If something isn't clear - please feel free to ask, I'll provide specifics.

What social networks are you focusing on and which ones you are good at with?

I also doing social network marketing for my sites but I am not getting more traffic as expected from them.
