Too much competition

Don't you think there is too much competition in Web Design Field.

I mean there are too many web designers and too few people who actually need Web Design Service.


What do you think?

I don't think so. There are not so many very skilled website designers. Actually, there is a lot of peole with basic knowledge who are able to create a website, but this is not all. If you will be dedicated and hard-working you will be better than those people. I also disagree that there aren't many clients. Internet is alive and constantly changing as well as web design

I'm with kenzo22 on this - I think there's more than enough work for those who want to learn how to build really fine websites. In fact, if you look at how many truly awful sites are out there, you could even make the point that there are nowhere near enough good designers!

I think competition is something that remains forever if you will not compete than you are going to loose a great source of income it is really very very difficult to stay on the top in an online business.

Offcourse web design field is too competitive field now a days. Because site may speak worldwide rather than marketing people. We can promote our site via seo techniques and get traffic and leads. We can also post our website links in B2B portals like Pepagora, alibaba, etc. for free. That also automatically create site backlinks.

Actually not only a web design competition is every where and every field. Always amount of buyers are low in compare to service provider.

Yes, competition is in every field but the person who is hard worker and perfectly do the work will surely get the success.If we talk about web designing so the users need new ideas and inventions,so the designer should be aware from all this.

Web Design Niche has many sub niches as well. Especially If you are a well performing designer, you can create your own line of clients.
I do second the above point of being unique and innovative to be successful.

I think there will always be companies looking for web design services (be it up dating an existing one to more modern trends or a completely new design). Remember, more and more companies are getting online which means more and more potential design work (then again, many are set on a themeforest or free Wordpress design but still, plenty of work to go around).

I think to start a web design business today the best you can do is to offer either free or highly discounted services to build up a nice portfolio. A good portfolio and a stunning website should go a long way in the long run.

Sure, there are plenty out there, but if you can carve a niche for yourself, be great at what you do and find the right clients, there should be no stopping you!

Yes, i agreed with you i feel the same. there are more compition. Many providers are there, then users.

Don't worry about competition.. if you r good at what you do and can be at the right online space.. you can get more sales as demand is more compared to supply in this field..

I am freelance web designer / developer. I have been working as web designer from past 10 years. Every field have competition same as web design field. On freelance portals, you will see lots of web designer, content writer, developers etc.

But all of them will not get projects, because of weak portfolio, less coding standards, bad designing. One with having good experience, modern web design trends, good coding standards. I have few clients who are regular based project providers from past 7 years again come back to me for new designing of website, ecommerce site etc.

Because I have provided quality work to them, also I don't compromise with the rates. They give me good money and quality work. One more thing to add is deadline is given to complete any projects.

So one who have good skills and who keep updated with latest trends get good work.
