Here are 5 easy tips to keep your WordPress website secured in 2015. They are very easy to follow and can make you work easier:

1. Passwords: must use strong passwords. None of using the date of your birthday or the name of your phone. Using programs such as LastPass or 1Password to generate and manage your passwords.
2. Use security plugins: There is one good plugin, called Wordfence Security which will do a complete check and helping you find and solve the main problems
3. Do not allow the Pingbacks: Commonly used to link your blog to other blogs of someone. It can be an open door for hackers.
4. Make backups: backup is paramount. You can use a plugin like WordPress Backup to Dropbox and send a backup of your blog to your account Dropbox online storage. In case of problems you can recover all your data.
5. WordPress Upgrade: Upgrade WordPress, plugins, themes ... do not leave it for later. If you can install Jetpack maintenance tasks directly from wordpress dot com

What are your ways to keep your wordpress secured?

I had no idea about pingbacks, thanks for the tip. Security has not been something I have considered with Wordpress CMSs. Has anybody here had a wordpress site which has been attacked?

If you go through your spam email box and look at all the trash links that the spammers want you to click on, you will notice that a large number of these are sent from, and directing you too a wordpress site.

Wordpress can be a great platform, but since it is so widely used, people love to try to find ways to exploit it. Essentially once they can find a way to exploit 1 Wordpress website, they have essentially exploited hundreds of thousands of websites!

Staying up with the latest updates and disabling unused plugins, will help guard against this!

I have a wordpress blog for some adult content that I write, from what I'm understanding, I should not ignore the updates, I should go ahead and install them. I'm still fairly new to wordpress, the person that write for is the one that set up the blog. I know that right now there are plug in updates and something else in there, so I should just go ahead and install them?
