Most webmasters or SEOer will understand that search engines don't like duplicate content. So the SE will solve how many pages the same content? The SE will be based on more factors as relevant content first - original and return the result pages

In other words, duplicate content filter algorithm is a comparison between this page and other pages. If the filters look at a page or two too many overlapping elements, it just keeps the a list main index page, the remaining pages will be moved to the list of additional items.

Penalties (ban) will arise when you try to copy hundreds or thousands of content pages from different domains on your website or create a identical content completely from other sites.

To avoid duplicate content, wee need apply some ways below:

1 / Do not steal information from other sites.

2 / Continually check for duplicate content on your own website?

3 / Check to see if anyone steal your content? (use Copyscape copyscape.com to check).

4 / If you have multiple URLs on the same domain point to the same content, select a URL to be indexed spider, the rest of the URL using robots.txt to prevent.

What about you ? any thoughts ?

What will SE do with the duplicate content?

Penalties (ban) will arise when you try to copy hundreds or thousands of content pages from different domains on your website or create a completely identical content from other sites.

As you know, the SE has a responsibility is difficult to remove duplicate results in their index and list of course will not be able to fully resolve this issue, therefore, a new trends require the support help of webmasters / SEOer of the site especially e-commerce sites with a huge list of products but overlap. And problem will be solved with Canonical tag.

If you have multiple URLs pointing to one page as http://yoursite.com/index.php?item=1 or http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?item=1 or http:// yoursite.com / item-name.html, you only need to specify the URL "main" that can help reduce the workload as well as eliminate the possibility of faulty own website duplicate content. Simply you can add Canonical tag as the example below in the HEAD section of the HTML page:

<link rel="canonical" href="http://yoursite.com/item-name.html" />

Hope it's useful with you.!

Select unique title for your article,
Search the same article title in Search engine. If your article title matches with the search results articles, then your article considered as duplicate, so avoid adding duplicate contents to the website.

You have to use unique titles for the content, if your title is duplicate then your content is also considered as duplicate. This is the best way to avoid duplicate content for the website promotion.

However search engine don't rank duplicate contents in most cases, but many websites that are authority, rank high even for duplicate contents too according to my experience. We can use 301 redirect or Canonical tag in that case
