How should google improve Google +?

I think we can all agree that as a social media site, Google + is practically dead. It is handy however with SEO as you can get your work indexed whenever you post in on Google +, but that's about it. I think if Google plans to keep it as a social media site, then they really need to change the UI. I personally think that the Google + UI is quite clustered and it doesn't look very good. It's too colorful in a way, and everything else seems to be too big. I think Google should also add some work promoting Google +, encouraging users to register because of features that only they can offer. Google has given us a lot of amazing things, they should be able to handle a social media site.
