How many Social Buttons do You really need?

1. Facebook
2. Twitter
3. LinkedIn
4. Pinterest
5. Tumblr
6. Google+

This is now a mixture of social media + bookmarking sites + photos + emails + professionals.

It depends on your niche that you're in, if you're more visual then I would add Youtube, Pinterest... usual buttons on sites would be Facebook, Twitter, G+ and LinkedIn

Mostly Social buttons are depend upon the site content or which function it perform. I am using Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linkedin and Pinterest.

4 buttons are fine for me, google+, facebook like button, twitter tweet and Linkedin button.
In other words, you can add other social networks buttons if they are useful and bringing more shares for your site.

depends on your content. humor sites might do facebook/twitter, while a site about marketing might do linkedin...etc.

i just use those addthis or sharethis type of tools when i can, as they let you customize which sharing widgets appear.
