is Facebook limiting traffic with big fanpages?

Hello,

My friend has a big fanpage with hundreds of thousands of Fans on his fanpage and last days he said that seem Facebook is limiting traffic to his website through fanpage. for example if he shared website links then traffic decreased than before and if only sharing images or post text, it's normal to get views on fanpage. is Facebook limiting traffic with big fanpages sharing website links?

Anyone has ideas/thoughts about that?

I think that it is a common behavior of Facebook or any social media sites because as if you share links lots of times then it looks unnatural, so its not get limited by Facebook the users who views your page understands that you are doing this for promoting and they do not follow you.
